Welcome to the Sardine Society.

Looking to create work that felt more authentic to myself and my heritage, I created branding for a unique, fictional brewery that specializes in classic tinned sardine flavors. With some creative writing skills, I gave a story to the name Sardine Society and printed it on the back of every label. I also created fun posters that could be used as advertisements in subways, at bus stops, or even using wheatpaste on a building wall. The labels were made to fit almost perfectly around an amber glass bottle, with different colored beer caps to match each flavor. A horizontal banner was created in Adobe Illustrator using the silly and expressive Sardine Society figures on a backdrop of symbols from classic Portuguese embroidery. And finally, as an homage to the tracks I listened to throughout the creation of this project, I created a custom Spotify playlist of some of my favorite Portuguese indie music. Check it out below!
